The side shelf now offers “Keep expanded after dropping”, enabled by default. Turning it off collapses only a shelf automatically revealed during a drag after the drop finishes. Manual opening, drag-out hiding, and empty-shelf hiding remain independent. Drop completion follows actual destination events rather than a fixed timeout.
The top Island no longer responds to drag approach by default, so it stays out of the way while rearranging browser tabs. Real files still reveal the side shelf, and top activation remains available as an independent setting. The Quick Access module introduced in v1.6.4 continues to follow the current macOS default file manager.
